Hello, my name is Caitlyn Hearne. I grew up right here in North Canton, Ohio where I graduated from GlenOak High School in 2014. After graduation I pursued an Early Childhood Education degree with a minor in Intervention Specialist at The University of Mount Union. I completed my student teaching in a second grade general education classroom and a blended kindergarten and first grade Intellectual Disability classroom. I graduated in May 2018.

Since graduation I returned to Plain Local Schools where I did multiple long term substitute positions. The grade levels raged from kindergarten up to third grade and general education classrooms to special education classrooms. I enjoyed being able to see the different grade levels and gain more experience in classroom management.

My most recent position was a long term substitute in a kindergarten classroom before schools were shut down due to COVID-19. When we shut down and transferred to online learning I found the students, staff, and families struggled to adjust to our new normal. I saw many families trying to educate their children while dealing with their own struggles brought on by the pandemic. That is why I have decided to create this business to give parents/guardians a chance to get extra help for their young learners. I am offering 1 to 2 hours of tutoring sessions per day in your home or a at public place, depending on your child’s age and your preference. The goals for these sessions are to strengthen skills they already know and to improve on concepts they are currently struggling with. I will be basing my lessons off Ohio state standards but will also customize each lessons to your child’s needs and interest. If you are seeking assistance for your child while they are online learning the time can be longer through a day and I will try to follow along with what your child is learning in their online classroom but also focusing in areas I see them struggle.

Please check out my Facebook page at Ohio Tutoring for extra activities to do at home with your child! Since parents/guardians are the ones that know their child the best, I would love to gain any input I can from my families in the review section on Google! As we move into the unknown of what this upcoming school year could bring I want to be here as an extra assistance in your students’ learning experience, whether if they are in the classroom or online learning!
